Backups
Trigger a full backup or a database-only backup and see whether each run succeeded. Failed backups stay visible until you resolve them.
White label client reports
Put together a monthly report per client with the updates, backups, uptime and security status. On the Agency plan you can add your own logo and colour to the report.
Team and roles

The connection runs through our own connector plugin. No passwords or admin accounts are ever shared.

Install the connector plugin
Install our plugin on the WordPress site you want to connect. It only adds a locked-down REST namespace and changes nothing else about the site.

Paste the connection key into RootsWP
The plugin generates a key pair. Paste the public key along with the site URL into RootsWP, and the connection is tested straight away.

Manage the site centrally
From then on RootsWP reads the site's status and runs updates, backups and checks. No passwords are shared and no extra admin account is created.
RootsWP reaches out to the site, never the other way round
The connection is designed to share as little access as possible. Here is exactly how that works.
- A dedicated key pair per siteEvery connection gets its own key pair. Disconnect a site and that key stops working immediately, while the rest of your sites keep running.
- Signed requestsEvery request is signed with HMAC-SHA256 over the method, path, a timestamp and a nonce. Expired or replayed requests are rejected.
- Traffic runs one wayRootsWP calls the site. The site never needs to open an outbound connection and never sends data on its own initiative.
- Stored in the EUThe database and backup metadata are hosted with a European provider. Site files stay on the site's own hosting.
